The Isle of Wight
Cottage at GodshillSo many places to interest and excite
Although it's only 147 square miles in area, the Isle of Wight has more than its fair share of places of interest. Staying in Sandown, the places you'll want to visit are never far away.

Over half of the Isle of Wight is recognised as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", with nearly 30 miles of shore designated "Heritage Coast" - an accolade only applied to coastlines of the highest quality in England and Wales. Discover the panoramic views from flower-strewn downs, the bird life of marsh and estuary, red squirrels in ancient forests and the rich farmland dotted with pretty villages.

A small island that's big on attractions
The Isle of Wight has more than its fair share of attractions, with plenty to do come rain or shine! Theme parks, farms with petting animals for small children, animal and bird sanctuaries to delight visitors of all ages and a wide range of sports and leisure activities.

Carisbrooke Castle Historic Isle
The Isle of Wight's rich and varied history dates back to when dinosaurs roamed the land. Wherever you go on the island you will see evidence of its fascinating past. Roman Villas, medieval castles and ancient houses reflect life in a bygone age. The Victorian era ended when Queen Victoria passed away at Osborne House, 100 years ago.

Maritime Isle
The island is proud of its maritime heritage and great seafaring traditions, remembered and preserved in our nautical museums. This strong heritage is still very much alive today, with sailing events attracting people from all over the world.
